Tohoku is a region located in the northeastern part of Honshu, Japan’s largest island. It consists of seven prefectures: Aomori, Iwate, Miyagi, Akita, Yamagata, Fukushima, and Niigata. Tohoku is known for its vast natural landscapes, its clearly defined four seasons, and its rich cultural traditions.
